Our Neglected Planet

“Our Neglected Planet” was inspired by the damaging impact we as humans have inflicted onto the Earth. I intended to help highlight the blame that we deserve for the detrimental destruction that we have caused our planet. I used landscapes as the focus for my work as they are an aspect of the world that is yet to be tainted by human activity. They remind us of the beauty and magnificence of the natural world and remind us of how our planet could look without our damaging influence. By partially destroying the landscapes that I created I wanted to show how critical it is for us to change our attitudes and course of action towards climate change. If we fail to act now, then we will inevitably be permanently defacing our planet.
