The title of my project is “Japanese Inspired Products”. I created a Haori. To do this, I considered either sewing two different coloured materials together to create a weaving effect or using  spray paint to layer on top of the fabric, using  stencils.  This is relative to the work I have done so far as we have done lots of weaving and lots of spray-painting samples this year and experimented with layering them and I really enjoyed doing it. I also like the Japanese and Chinese theme and upon researching this theme, I came across the Haori which matched perfectly with my interest in Japanese/Chinese. I wanted to create surface pattern and also researched contemporary artists and designers such as Banksy and Keith Harring, both iconic spray paint creators and I looked at the surface pattern work of Orla Kiely.
