Addiction

The title or question of my final major project is ‘what’s wrong with the word addict?’. The themes in my work center around addiction and Dipsomania. I will aim to look at how people who struggle with addiction can be perceived and how calling someone an addict is harmful; I want to produce abstract paintings or posters using mixed media techniques to portray my research and ideas. This relates to my work so far on distortion as I will continue to use similar themes such as ‘broken’ also all the media techniques I have used will be prevalent in my fmp, my program has helped me to find my strengths such as panting which I plan to exploit in my work. However, it will extend my creative ability, knowledge and understanding through the research on issues and artists I aim to do and create new work inspired by my research and using techniques different artists use in my own development.
